5월 12일까지 열린 유성온천문화축제는 화려한 물쇼와 야생적인(?) 이벤트로 막을 올렸습니다. 방문객들은 족욕말고도 온천축제를 즐길 수 있는 다양한 방식이 있다는 것을 발견하는 시간이었어요.
The Yuseong Spa Festival, which happens every May, started with a spectacular wet and wild event on Friday May 12. In addition to foot baths, attendees found out that there are many other ways to get into the spa spirit.
그중 온천수 버킷 챌린지는 참가자들이 양동이에 가득 채운 물을 그들의 머리위로 붓는 재미있는 방식으로 진행됐습니다. 어떤 사람들은 비옷을 입기도 했는데, 그렇지 않은 분들도 있었어요.
The bucket challenge provided an entertaining way for participants to experience the feeling of a whole bucket of water, or two being poured over their head. While some opted for the raincoat, others did not.
젊은 남녀와 도깨비, 괴물 분장을 한 갱단이 트럭 뒤에 물을 채우기 전에 물총과 양동이에 물을 채울 수 있었어요.
Gangs of young men and women, goblins, and monsters could be seen filling water guns and buckets of water before filing onto the back of trucks.
몇 분 후에 그들은 구경꾼들에게 물을 쏘기 시작했는데요. 참가자들이 정말 즐거워했기 때문에 축제 내내 즐거운 웃음소리가 끊이질 않았어요. 약 300미터 떨어진 도로에서는 트럭들을 탄 갱 무리(?)들이 있어 깜짝 놀랐습니다.
A few minutes later, they began to squirt water at onlookers. Laughs could be heard throughout the festival as the crowd really enjoyed the show. About 300 meters down the road, the gangs on the trucks had a surprise.
수 십명의 남녀 참가자들과 어린이들이 그들을 기다리며 무장(?)하고 있었는데요. 여태컷 본 물 싸움 중 가장 규모가 컸습니다. 갱단들은 빠르고 수적으로 우세했는요. 물총 싸움이 적어도 10분 동안은 계속되면서 주거니받거니 했죠.
There were dozens of men, women and children armed with water guns waiting for them. The biggest water fight that I have ever seen followed. The gangs were quickly outnumber by participants and could be seen ducking for cover.The water fight lasted for at least 10 minutes, and was certainly hit.
물에 젖지 않는 활동을 선호하는 사람들을 위해서는 무언가를 만들고, 한국 전통 놀이를 할 수 있는 많은 체험부스들이 있었습니다.
For those that preferred dry activities, there were a number of booths for making projects and playing traditional Korean games.
유성온천문화축제는 매년 흥미진진하게 열립니다.
